Fencing and outdoor structures

AI for fence companies

Fencing is an estimate business. The job is won or lost on whether the call gets answered, whether the site visit gets booked, and whether anyone follows up on the number you quoted. BoardFill handles all three, inside the software you already run. This is the trade we started in, and the one where our production proof lives.

How calls actually go in a fence shop

Spring buries you

The season turns and every homeowner wants a quote the same month. The office picks up what it can, and the rest of the calls become someone else's jobs.

Estimates are the product

Almost nothing sells on the first call. The call books a site visit, the visit produces a quote, and the quote needs chasing. Each handoff is a place the job can die quietly.

Territories get crossed

When booking is manual, estimators end up driving past each other on the highway. Routing by zip should be automatic, not tribal knowledge in the office.

A Saturday call, walked through

  1. 01A homeowner calls at lunchtime on Saturday about replacing a backyard fence. The office is closed. The agent answers on the first ring and says it is an AI assistant for your company.
  2. 02It collects the address, what the customer wants, rough scope, and any gate or material preferences, asking the way your own office would.
  3. 03It checks the zip code against your territories and books a site visit into the right estimator's schedule inside your field service software.
  4. 04The customer gets a confirmation text immediately. Your estimator sees the booked visit with the full call summary attached, not a voicemail to decode.
  5. 05After the visit, when the quote goes out, the follow up sequence starts on its own and keeps the quote warm until it books or the customer says no.

The software fence companies actually run

Fence shops run Latitude, Jobber, general CRMs, and a lot of spreadsheets. Almost none of them run the platform the funded AI products require, which is why those products have never built a fencing page. We integrate with what is actually in your office. Our first fencing deployment, at Colonial Fences, runs on Latitude with direct server access.

Common questions

Can an AI agent really book fence estimates?

Yes. The agent answers the call, collects the property address, the type of work such as new fence, repair, or gate, and the customer's timing, then books a site visit into your schedule. It routes the visit by zip code so the right estimator gets it, and it tells every caller up front that they are speaking with an AI assistant.

We do not run ServiceTitan. Does that matter?

No, and that is the point. Most fence companies do not run ServiceTitan, which is why the big AI vendors skip the trade. BoardFill is built by HummingAgent engineers who integrate directly with what you run, whether that is Latitude, Jobber, another platform, or spreadsheets. Our first fencing deployment runs on Latitude.

What happens to quotes that do not close on the spot?

They go into an automatic follow up sequence over text and email. The sequence keeps working the quote until the customer books or says no, and everything it does is logged in your system so your team can see the whole thread.
