Colonial Fences: a full AI front office, on Latitude

Colonial Fences is a fence company running its operations on Latitude, a field service platform no packaged AI product supports. That made it exactly the kind of business we build for. Here is what the deployment looks like.

The starting point

The problems were the standard ones for an estimate driven trade: calls arriving after hours and on weekends with no one to take them, site visits routed by memory across multiple territories, and leads arriving from the website and Meta that had to be re-typed into Latitude by hand.

The usual fix, buying a front office AI product, was not available. Those products do not integrate with Latitude, and replacing the platform a business runs on to get an answering tool is the tail wagging the dog.

What we built

A voice agent on the main line

The agent answers around the clock, tells every caller it is an AI assistant, asks the questions the office would ask, and books site visits directly into the schedule. Calls that need a human get routed to one, with the full conversation attached.

Zip routed booking

Colonial Fences works distinct territories. The booking flow checks every new job's zip code and assigns the visit to the right estimator automatically, so routing stopped being a thing the office holds in its head.

A technician routing dashboard

A live dashboard shows who is assigned where and what is coming next, built custom on top of the data already sitting in Latitude.

Unified lead capture

Website form fills and Meta lead forms flow into the same pipeline as phone calls, each one getting an immediate response and landing in Latitude as a real record instead of an inbox entry.

How it was possible

There is no Latitude app store. HummingAgent engineers took direct server access and did the API work by hand, wiring the agent, the booking flow, and the dashboard into the data Colonial Fences already had. That is the difference between buying a product and having a system built: the software the business already ran did not have to change.

The deployment was not a quarter long IT project. Builds like this typically go live in two to four weeks, then get tuned monthly against real calls and real bookings.
